PostHog for Startups: $50,000 in credits and how to use them
Credit amount (provider's words)
$50,000 in PostHog credits for 12 months (+ $12,000 in partner perks on top tier)
As stated by PostHog; not a guarantee. PostHog decides who is approved.
PostHog for Startups gives eligible companies $50,000 in PostHog credits for 12 months, usable across most of the platform from product analytics and session replay to error tracking and the data warehouse. You must be under 2 years old with less than $5M raised and apply from an account on your company email domain; from September 14, 2026 the credits no longer cover PostHog's AI tools.
PostHog gives very young startups $50,000 of credit usable across almost its whole product suite (analytics, replay, flags, error tracking, warehouse), plus partner perks and merch. It is self-serve: you apply from inside a PostHog account that uses your company email domain.

- $50,000 PostHog credit, valid 12 months
- Partner perks: $1,500 off Incident.io, 50% off Speakeasy for 6 months, $5,000 Depot credit

How the credits are applied and when they expire
Sign up to a paid PostHog plan (you're only charged for usage), then submit the form; if eligible, the credit is applied automatically to your bills. Credits last 12 months; after that, or once $50K is used up, you move to a normal PostHog plan.
Approval time
Not published; accepted startups are notified by email and the credit is applied automatically
For founders in India
No India-specific terms published. The key requirement for Indian founders is a company email domain: applications from personal Gmail/Outlook addresses are rejected.
How to apply, step by step
- Create a PostHog account with your company email address
- Sign up to a paid plan. PostHog charges only for usage
- Click Apply now on posthog.com/startups (the form is at app.posthog.com/startups) and fill it in. PostHog says this takes about 2 minutes

Documents and details to keep ready
- A company email domain. PostHog says you need one to apply
- PostHog does not publish a document list for the form
Common reasons applications are declined
- Company 2+ years old or raised $5M or more
- Applied from a personal email domain (gmail.com, outlook.com, etc.)
- PostHog account created before Jan 1, 2023: still enrolled in the program but no credits
- YC companies use the separate Bookface deal (the two don't stack)
Tips before you apply
- Set up your company domain email first and create the PostHog account with it
- Build on the monthly free allowance until you have a domain, then apply
- Budget AI-tool usage (PostHog AI, Desktop, Slack app) separately: credits no longer cover it
- Look out for the acceptance email, which explains how to claim the Incident.io, Speakeasy and Depot perks
Terms to know
- From 14 September 2026, credits can't be used on AI tools: PostHog Desktop, the Slack app, Replay Vision, PostHog AI and Inbox
- Credits can't be used for onboarding calls or for a BAA on the Boost plan. YC companies have a separate deal that doesn't stack
- After 12 months, or once the $50k is used, you move to another PostHog plan
