How the credits are applied and when they expire

There are no credits to redeem: your account is switched to the Startup Plan as soon as the application is accepted, and the 12-month term starts then (you can't bank it for later). You must start sending data within 90 days. If you go over 1B events you can upgrade to Growth/Enterprise or drop to Free; after the year you move to Free, Growth or Enterprise. The Startup Plan doesn't support BAAs or MSAs.

Approval time

Automatic: after you confirm eligibility and submit the form, the account is provisioned with the Startup Plan (per Mixpanel docs)

For founders in India

No India-specific terms published; the same USD-denominated criteria (incorporated <5 years, ≤$8M raised) apply worldwide and no VC or accelerator affiliation is required.

How to apply, step by step

1. Wait until you are ready to implement: the free year starts when you enrol and can't be saved for later
2. Click Join Now on mixpanel.com/startups to open the application (mixpanel.com/startups-apply/)
3. Pick your referral partner from the dropdown. If it isn't listed, choose "Other" and type its name. If you have no partner, choose "I do not have a referral partner"
4. Confirm the eligibility statements and submit. Your account is then provisioned with the Startup Plan automatically
5. Start sending data to Mixpanel within 90 days of acceptance

Documents and details to keep ready

• Name of your referral partner (VC, accelerator or incubator), if you have one
• Mixpanel does not publish a document list. You self-confirm founding date, total funding and that you have no paid-plan history, and Mixpanel may ask for evidence later

Common reasons applications are declined

• Incorporated five or more years ago
• Raised more than $8M (USD) in total funding
• Previously redeemed another Mixpanel offer or been on a paid plan
• Removed (and barred from rejoining) if you don't send data within 90 days of acceptance

Tips before you apply

• Apply only when your tracking is ready: the year starts on enrolment and you're removed if no data arrives within 90 days
• Use the free plan (1M events/month) until you're ready to instrument properly
• If an investor referred you, pick them in the dropdown, or 'Other'; choose 'I do not have a referral partner' if unaffiliated
• Watch event volume against the 1B/year cap; Mixpanel says it will contact you before you exceed it

Terms to know

• One year only. There is no second free year, and the Startup Plan can't be bought on its own
• Over 1B events: upgrade to Growth or Enterprise, or drop to Free. No BAAs or MSAs on the Startup Plan
• If you misrepresent eligibility, Mixpanel may convert, suspend or terminate the account
