Credit amount (provider's words)

50% off all JetBrains tools (incl. JetBrains AI) for up to 5 years

As stated by JetBrains; not a guarantee. JetBrains decides who is approved.

The JetBrains startup program gives privately owned companies established within the last five years 50% off up to 10 IDE subscriptions, 10 team or learning tool subscriptions, and 10 JetBrains AI subscriptions, for up to five years. Covered tools include IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm and WebStorm. Startups backed by a JetBrains partner VC or accelerator can get the first six months free before the 50% discount starts.

JetBrains takes 50% off its IDEs, team tools and JetBrains AI for young, privately owned companies, and the discount runs for up to five years. Startups backed by a JetBrains Partner Program incubator, accelerator or VC can get six months free first.

What you get

  • 50% off up to 10 IDE subscriptions, 10 paid team or learning tool subscriptions and 10 JetBrains AI subscriptions (AI Pro / AI Ultimate) over five years
  • 50% off YouTrack (up to 250 users per subscription), TeamCity On-Premises (up to 10 build agents), Qodana, Datalore and JetBrains Academy, plus an unlimited number of participating plugins
  • Partner Program route: six months free on up to 10 licences, then the standard 50% for the rest of the five years

Eligibility

  • Company is privately owned
  • You can provide evidence that the company was established within the last five years
  • Company has a website or other discoverable online presence
  • Commercial licences only. One discount per organisation; subsidiaries and sister companies don't qualify separately

How the JetBrains startup program discount works

Credit types and validity

  • 50% off commercial licences for up to 5 years
  • Caps: 10 IDE subscriptions, 10 team/learning tool subscriptions, 10 JetBrains AI subscriptions
  • Team tools: YouTrack (≤250 users), TeamCity On-Premises (≤10 agents), Qodana, Datalore, JetBrains Academy
  • Via a partner: 6 months free for up to 10 licences, then 50% off

How the credits are applied and when they expire

Once approved, the 50% discount applies automatically at JetBrains Store checkout (or by quote) for commercial per-user licences. It ends five years after approval or once you reach the caps. Don't exceed a cap in a single order: put excess licences in a separate full-price order. It doesn't apply to personal or floating licences, and JetBrains generally doesn't refund licences bought before you were approved.

Approval time

Applications reviewed within 48 hours; accepted startups get an email and then a quote

For founders in India

No India-specific terms published; you need documentary evidence of incorporation date (e.g., your company registration certificate) and a website or online presence.

How to apply, step by step

  1. If your incubator, accelerator or VC is a JetBrains partner, use its offer first
  2. Otherwise click "Apply for Startup Program" on jetbrains.com/startups and complete the form
  3. Upload evidence of your incorporation date and give your website
  4. JetBrains reviews within 48 hours. If accepted, you get an acceptance email and then a quote
  5. Buy from the JetBrains store. The discount applies at checkout. Keep each order within the 10-licence limits

Documents and details to keep ready

  • Evidence of your company's establishment date (e.g. incorporation document). JetBrains cites missing documents as a common reason for rejection
  • Company website or other discoverable online presence

Common reasons applications are declined

  • Missing information (e.g., a document or website)
  • Company established more than five years ago or no evidence of founding date
  • Not privately owned or no discoverable online presence
  • Parent company or a subsidiary already received the discount (one per organisation)

Tips before you apply

  • Have proof of your incorporation date and a live website ready; missing documents are a common reason for rejection
  • If your accelerator/VC is a JetBrains partner, use that route first for 6 free months
  • Split orders so a single order never exceeds the 10-licence caps, or you lose the discount on it
  • Apply before buying licences: JetBrains generally doesn't refund full-price purchases

Terms to know

  • The discount ends five years after approval or when you reach the purchase limits
  • Can't be combined with other JetBrains offers. No refunds for licences bought before approval. Per-user licences only (no floating licences)
